Anne-Marie Anctil
Originally from Les Bergeronnes, Anne-Marie Anctil lives in Alma. Since 2011, she has pursued a solo career in the visual arts. She holds an interdisciplinary Bachelor's degree in Arts as well as a Master's degree in Art, with a focus on creation, from the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi.
A visual meditation artist, she creates works of escape inspired by landscapes that reflect her life journey: from the St. Lawrence River to Lac Saint-Jean, through the Saguenay. She uses watercolour and acrylic to paint horizons; at times, these landscapes appear within the silhouettes of marine mammals and fish. Softness, serenity, and grounding settle onto the canvas, inviting contemplative nature lovers to grant themselves a moment of pause in their daily lives.
