Olga Rykova

Olga Rykova

Born in Moldova, Kishinev and immigrating to Canada in 1990, Olga Rykova has nurtured a style that pops right off the canvas. She is sought after for her large scale canvas paintings, often depicting strong women, and has garnered the attention of art lovers and collectors alike.

Olga grew up in a creative environment, with her mother dancing for the Russian Ballet and father being a respected Publicist in Ukraine with a background in Fine Arts. As early as 10 years of age, Olga was drawn to art history books about the Renaissance, Borock, Sandro Botticelli, French Impressionism and Russian/French literature.

Graduating from the Repin University of Fine Arts in Kishinev, Olga was an exemplary student. Upon her move to Canada, she was quickly recognized by the media for her traditional works of icons, pastels and watercolors.

Olga rediscovered her love for acrylic paintings, first through abstracts and then large scale portraits. With her unique sense for colors and constant reinvented technique, she paints from a deep part putting feeling to each brush stroke until her vision comes to life.
