As far as I remember, art has always been a part of my life. I explored drawing and oil painting as a teenager. And during college I discovered acrylic paint, and it became my preferred medium.
Being of a rather introverted nature, the visual arts are - for me - a natural means of expression.
My approach is a rather intuitive one. Abstract art allows me to express myself freely, without having a specific result in mind, without having any imposed constraints. I like to be overtaken by an emotion when I contemplate my canvas from another angle. And I seek to surprise myself… to discover the unexpected.
I approach art in its simplest expression: chromatic harmony, graphic composition, texture and gesture. And from this emanates a poetry. One that touches people, generate emotions and move them. I seek to express my inner self by exposing my fragility and finding beauty in imperfection.
The great outdoors inspires me. And I let myself be seduced by it's beauty and the nature that surrounds me. It results in abstract landscapes where calm and chaos gracefully coexist.
