Artêria Art Gallery— About

Even if the activities of Artêria started at the beginning of 2005, the company was really born only in the spring of 2007 under its current name. Established by Geneviève Lévesque, the gallery developped quickly thanks to the invaluable co-workers of the company among whom: Christian Dorey, curator, Valérie Doucet, technician in museology at Zèle Muséo, Étienne Després, graphic designer and Pascal Couturier, director of the graphic communication company Chocolat Media for the conception of the web site.

In 2009-2010, the company participated in numerous international events some of which include the following shows:

  • Art Expo NY 2009
  • Affordable Art Fair New York 2009
  • Shanghai Art Fair 2009
  • Arteclasica Buenos Aires 2009
  • Istanbul Contemporary 2009
  • Tokyo Art Fair 2010
  • Melbourne Art 2010
  • AAFNYC 2010

During these presentations, Artêria was singled out as 'one of our 10 favorite galleries presenting at the AAFNYC' by the prestigious American magazine Nylon - http://www.nylonmag.com/?section=article&parid=3010

Stemming from the company’s success with overseas markets, Artêria received numerous prizes for the development of the company in 2009:

  • Grant holder from la Fondation du Maire de Montréal
  • 1st place – Business, Québec Entrepreneurship contest
  • 2nd place – Arts & culture, Women’s entrepreneurship challenge
  • 3rd place – Concours Mon Entreprise UQAM

Artêria was also able to count on the support of numerous people of the business world, so thank you to René Grenier of the CJE Bas-Richelieu for the support at starting up as well as Julie Belisle and Julie Salvail of the CLD Pierre-de-Saurel during the expansion of the company.
